Coral reefs are often called the "rainforests of the sea", home to diverse marine life and typically
found in shallow sea depths, they are beautiful beyond description. Coral comes in a
kaleidoscope of color and shapes and is strikingly pretty when displayed in aquariums.

If you are planning a beach themed wedding and long for something more dramatic than
swaying palm trees and sea shells then you might consider coral accessories and decorations.
This coral does not have to be real, faux coral made of poly resin often looks like the real thing
and will lend that authentic under the sea atmosphere to your event. Here are some tips for
making a splash with unique coral decor.

Now that you've set the wedding date decide on your colors, we already know you are going with
a tropical or sea theme. Aqua, ocean blue, coral pinks or oranges are magnificent choices for
color schemes. Send invitations printed with eye catching coral sprays on the front.

Location:

At your venue of choice, set up a floral arch adorned with tropical flowers like Anthurium. These
showy plants have heart shaped leaves with a fleshy spike in the middle, intermingle palms and
other flowers like hibiscus, orchids and gingers to create a visual paradise. Line up chairs
draped in netting or organza for guests next to the isle the bride will walk down. Allow the
soothing call of the sea to be your background music.

Reception:

At your reception, decorate the walls with tropical flowers interlaced with fish nets. Light with tiki
torches and arrange tropical aquariums teaming with sealife along the walls. If possible
intersperse gorgeous faux or real coral on tables with more tropical flowers and scatter
seashells and star fish on the tables. For an under the sea display, use faux coral place card
holders with each guests name and table number. Next to each plate place a life like coral bottle

Lua or Wedding Feast:

For your wedding feast, prepare an extravaganza your guests will never forget. An under the sea
menu should be rich with seafood and tropical island dishes. On your reception menu have your
caterer prepare a signature drink, offer lots of refreshments. For the food menu include lots of
fresh fruit like pineapple, mango and papaya. For the main course include grilled swordfish,
coconut shrimp, lobster, roasted pig paired with side dishes of rice, sweet potatoes and poi to
name a few. Your wedding cake should be an eye catching concoction adorned with shells,
starfish, sugared coral sprays, and sea horses.
